Anyone know how competitive it is to get into the Freshman Science Honors program? The letter says that 60 students are admitted, but is there a figure for the percentage that apply and are accepted?

I’m a current FSH student and I’m unsure about the exact figure, but I can tell you this: one of my friends applied late (after the deadline) and wasn’t invited to apply (not a scholarship student), made it to the waitlist, and is in the class with me now. So from that, it doesn’t seem too bad. Also, I know some people who bumped “up” from the general class to FSH after first semester because they did really well first semester in that class, so I feel like if you try hard enough and show Judy Haw (the director) that you really want in on this program, you can get in.

I was also on one of our FSH trips to the aquarium (:D!) a week or so ago and she mentioned that only a handful of students had applied, so …your chances seem pretty good to me. Don’t take my word for it though, I know a lot of people (like me!) apply on the day that it’s due and no earlier.
