Freshman Seminar?

Should I take a freshman seminar this fall? If so, which do you recommend? So far my tentative schedule is:

Math 20C
Muir 40
Chem 6A

If I do take a 1-unit freshman seminar, should I add a 5th course to my schedule?

I’m planning to do it. My fifth course would probably be finishing off my GE sequence for social science or language.

freshman seminars aren’t hard work at all so you shouldn’t even consider it a class. more of a just for fun class. =]
i took a freshman seminar every quarter my freshman year. they’re pass or no pass and pretty much if you go to class, you passed. usually there’s no homework or any tests.

EDIT:
as far as how many classes to take, advisers usually recommend taking only 3 since it’s your first quarter and it might take some adjustments. I took 4 and i was just fine but it really depends on you. We’re all different.

what are the freshman seminars? like…when i look thru the courses on tritonlink, what’s the code for freshman seminars? >.< i can’t find them…T_T

^They are in their individual departments. For example, if the Math department has a freshman seminar, it will be under the Mathematics section in Tritonlink. The key is to look for courses with the #87 :)

i HIGHLY recommend taking them… they’re so awesome. Be sure to take MUS 87 The Listener’s Collective if it’s offered…

I recommend them too! For once, you’ll be in a small class, and you can meet new people (:

@ucsandiego915: thank you!^^ beginning ukulele sounds interesting~

does anyone know when we should take bio if we’re on the pre-med track?

I’m going to take some seminars that look appealing, especially the bio seminar as well as the philosophy. Can we take more than 1 seminar?

^i think u can only take one seminar per quarter?

no that’s definitely not true. In fact, register for as many seminars as you can! most of them are really cool anyways and you’ll also accumulate more credits and in turn get better registration times in the future

^ REALLY? Woot!
