Freshman Seminars sign up?

Hey, where, how and when do you sign up for the Princeton Freshman Seminars for your freshman year? I've been looking everywhere. Thanks.

Assuming that 2010-11 is similar to 2009-10:

The information for 2010 is now available on-line. Sign-up for Fall seminars begins Monday, July 5.

do freshmen seminars count as an elective course?

If I apply for a fall freshman seminar and am placed into one, do I necessarily have to take it?

stridegumisbest… it appears that Freshman Seminars count as classes.

Any recommendations for taking freshman seminars? Should I do it in the fall or spring? Should I do it the same semester as the writing seminar? Any of the seminars really outstanding? Any to avoid?

Thanks

Seminars are different every year. Many of them suck, but you wouldn’t know that until after the fact. Many of them are awesome (mine was awesome).

It’s just like any other class you would take, so whether you take it at the same time as writing sem or not doesn’t really matter at all.

If you try to get into popular ones, you basically won’t have the opportunity to take a seminar both semesters, so I would look at the ones offered, and decide which one was my favorite, rather than basing off the semester it’s offered.

Thanks for all the advice. From what I understand, a freshman seminar counts as a full course. Can you take a freshman seminar in both the fall and spring semesters (two freshman seminars in your first year)?

Thanks

My first choice seminar is in the spring but there is also one seminar i’d love to take in the fall. When I apply for the fall course I’m interested in, do I have to indicate 2 other seminars for the fall that I would be interested in? Because I would only want to attend one of the fall seminars; if not assigned to this one, I’d prefer to wait until the spring to apply for my first choice and thus hopefully be more likely to get that spring seminar. Any advice? Thanks!

Also, for the application one-page essay, do we just dedicate a paragraph to each preference? Or can we indicate just one preference and dedicate the entire page to that seminar?
