which other trips are there? geology?

chichi dango, unless I am mistaken, the Let's Eat one is in the Spring, and your four choices should be all fall ones for this app.

Princeton pays for the trips. I think there are just the Ocean and the Geology ones.

Hm, you're right. Thanks for pointing that out!

No problem. But speaking of spring courses, I want to do the chocolate one. Mmm yummy

I'm really really disappointed that Cornel West isn't teaching one this year; I know he did last year. But he does teach a religion course so maybe I'll get to take that.

the spring seminars look so much better than the fall ones!!!
So can we not apply for the fall seminars at all..and take a spring seminar instead??

Yes-- you can take one each semester, or just take one in the whole year, or not take any. If you don't take a fall one, you get preference in the spring.

Is there any need to apply right away? Are these first-come, first-served? Or do we just have to get the application in by the deadline?

That was my question also, but since they said that the profs read through all the essays, I don't think it's first come first serve. I haven't done my app yet.

I finally got my freshman booklet!! just wondering when did you people get yours??

Umm, I got mine on Saturday I think?

i got mine yesterday

When is the deadline again?

August 12th

so everyone here is applying for fall seminar??????

I am! Seminars are so wonderful-sounding, I want to do one each semester (I wish I could take 2 per semester...)
I think I will apply for:
1. Ocean environment
2. What disney didn't tell you
3. The holy ordinary
4. the geology one?

dont understand...dont you people think the spring ones are better??? they even got paul krugman taking one  !!!! and such interesting topics! basically, i dont want to risk my spring seminars..

Well, I want to take one each semester, and spring ones may be "better" but the fall ones are great as well...

Nobody says you have to take a fall one though, so don't feel like you need to, adides. But I don't think you'd be really jeopardizing your spring seminar if you take one in the fall. You're not guaranteed to get a spring one if you don't take a fall one anyway. What's more important is the quality of your essays, since that's what the profs choose you with.

You're not automatically locked out of the spring ones if you apply for a fall one. Plenty have taken one each semester. Don't sweat it ;)

arent the spring seminars not coming out till november?

They're already out if you got the booklet in the mail. You just can't apply until late fall.
