Freshman Seminiar Application

The application for freshman seminars are not that long, but has some essay questions.

What is the "norm" for freshman seminars? What percentage of Freshman class participate? When should I get started about doing the app and wrting essays?

You can definitely find time to the apps during freshman week.

To get into a seminar, the most important things to do are A. Rate it your #1 choice, B. make sure you attend any intro meeting/interview! and C. cross your fingers if it gets lotteried!

But the selection process is determined by professor... some might read the essays, some might now.

There are enough seminars (i think) for everyone to participate, don't have actual numbers though.

Can the professors see what number you ranked their seminars?

Yes, they can.

Does that seem to affect whether or not they decide to take you?

Well, obviously if you listed a seminar choice as your 4th choice, they'll probably would not be willing to take you.
