freshman spring transfer allowed? (bu)

does bu allow freshman to transfer into the school in the spring after taking one semester at another university? the transfer website says: "A student may apply to Boston University as a candidate for transfer admission if he or she is a degree candidate at another college or university. Undergraduate transfer applicants for January 2006 entrance should file an application by November 1, 2005. Applicants for September 2006 entrance should file an application by April 1, 2006." i am currently a degree candidate at uc berkeley, so does this mean a spring transfer IS possible?

also, which semester is the best time to transfer? fall or spring? since fall is a more popular time to enter, could that mean that there are less spots and less scholarship money to give out? i have to get some kind of merit aid in order to attend, so this info is extremely important. i'd appreciate any advice you have!

also is there anyway to find the statistics of acceptance rates by semester - fall and spring - for a particular school? i would like to see statistically when the best time to transfer is.

I would call the admissions office and ask to speak to the admissions officer who deals with transfer admissions. Sometimes what is on the college's website maybe a bit confusing. This has happened to me quite a bit. An adcom can give you clarity. :)

As far as the second question goes, I'm not sure of a particular website that breaks down acceptance rates for colleges by semester. I know some colleges release those numbers on their own.
