Freshman Summer Academic Program (FSAP)

<p>So out of everyone accepted (normally and through the January Acceptance program) who is going to the Freshman Summer Academic Program?</p>

<p>It's basically a five week, two course program at WashU where you can get a start on course work and a little bit of familiarity with the campus and city. You can get more information [url="<a href="http://www.artsci.wustl.edu/%7Ecollege/First_Year/FSAP.html%22%5Dhere%5B/url"&gt;http://www.artsci.wustl.edu/~college/First_Year/FSAP.html"]here[/url&lt;/a&gt;] at the WashU website. I'll be going.</p>

<p>Personally, I feel that the choice of courses is incredibly limited. Then again, I suppose the emphasis is more on getting acquainted with the university. it looks like a good program otherwise!</p>

<p>I definitely agree with you on that. The courses offered at the FSAP (besides the compulsory writing class) do seem a little watered out, but I think that's so you can relax and concentrate on acquainting yourself with the school.</p>

<p>i dont know if i want to take cal or history heh
but yea i am going</p>

<p>I was interested until I saw the $3000 price tag. I think my summer can be better served gaining funds for Wash U in the form of a summer job.</p>

<p>I was at HSSP last summer and hung out with some of the FSAP kids, they seemed to be having a good time. And $3000 isn't bad when you are paying $35000 for 30 credits per year anyway...</p>

<p>Is it mostly January program kids who go to FSAP?</p>

<p>^No it's mostly, if not all, fall admits.</p>

<p>er, all admits have the option to attend, whereas January people may be required/urged to go.</p>

<p>last year there were approx. 85 students at FSAP, only about 15-20 were JProgs</p>

<p>if there is one thing i could say about FSAP, it would be: do it!</p>

<p>i've never heard of a single attendee who has regretted their decision whereas i know a lot of students who wish they had gone.</p>

<p>january students are urged or recommended to go. usually it's almost half Jprogs, and half normal admits. either way, i know some people who went to it, and they loved it!!</p>
