Freshman Summer Start Program (FSSP)

I plan on attending UCI next fall, and am thinking about going to summer school just to get more oriented with the campus and take a GE requirement. I was wondering if anyone who has attended the program in the past could tell me what they thought about? Is it a good experience? And is it worth it to do the program, or would it just be better to attend a normal summer session? Thank you!

Hi!

If I SIR to Irvine (I’m deciding between UCI and UCSD but am 95% sure I want UCI), I might be doing the Summer Start Program as well- I’d take a chemistry prep class. Hopefully I’ll see you there! What elective class are you thinking of taking besides the mandatory one?

Hey, Chem review sounds like a good idea. I’m thinking about taking a course to get rid of one of my GE’s, but I haven’t decided which class to take for fssp. What major would you be entering as for uci?

I’d be entering in as a pharmaceutical science major- how about you? :)

I’m entering as a Biology/Education major.

Nice! We might have some of the same lower-division classes, then. Best of luck!

Awesome. That’s great. I hope to see you there next fall!! :)
