Freshman Summer Start - when do you move in?

I know the Summer Start program ends a full week before the regular quarter begins. When/How do we move our stuff in to our actual dorms after the summer session? Are we able to move it in early or do we have to pack up, go home, and then come back four days later to move in?

Have any UCSB students gone through this process? Thanks!

i was wondering the same thing, i really want to do the summer program but it depends on how much financial aid i will get for it.

Do you know how much it is?

i think it’s based on credits. the prices are on the UCSB website

It’s $5,000!!!

oh yeah, but i think there are various schedules you can take (like session a,b,c…g) so maybe if you only take 1 or 2 sessions, it will be cheaper? i know it’s almost 300 for a unit and most of the classes i would take are 4 units…and i’m probably going to take more than 1 class…so it adds up to a lot of freakin money! but they have financial aid so that helps

do you guys know when the financial aid for FSSP will be available? Like, do you have to apply for the program before you receive notification of aid? Or can you say that you’re interested and they’ll send an unofficial award letter like they’ve done for regular schooling?

is the summer start program mandatory???

@Dreamutolife no, it’s not. It’s an optional program for freshmen to get credits before fall quarter and adjust to college life.
