So I will be taking the SAT in a long while from now, in June. I am just curious, what should my goal threshold be? I'm good at Math to an extent, and currently I am studying prefixes, roots, suffixes, etc. I'm not in Geometry so that is going to be a bit of a disability for me on the test.

So, what score should I aim to get? (Keep in mind this is my first time taking the test)

1) Why in the world are you taking this as a freshman?
2) +1 to the above poster.
3) Your descriptions of your skills are extremely vague, especially when we don’t even have 1 score to go off of.

But still, why would you take it freshman year? Wait two years and your score will be higher anyways. Do you really want colleges to see less than ideal freshman sat scores because your friends pressured you into taking it? Don’t waste 4 hours of your life to take a test. That’s what junior and senior years are for=)

I disagree; go for it. The experience of taking a standardized test under timed conditions and having it count is an invaluable experience. Schools generally superscore the SAT, and you never know if one of your subscores from this test will end up being your highest.
