I apologize if this has been asked before (and I have a feeling it was), but does anybody have a general checklist of what first year Trojans should bring? I remember seeing a checklist long time ago, but I never cared to save it anywhere (shame on me). Thanks for your help!

Here's eom i found before

Although it's not for trojans specifically. I haven't seen one of those...

I have also seen on at collegeboard.com and also alot around here. use the search function.

Yeah, I just noticed the CB one. Thanks. You're Korean, eh? I am, too.

Here's the link to last year's Welcome Week list

There's actually a whole thread about it on CC:

Thanks for the links-I've also heard that a wrench is really handy for lofting beds. And I love how the USC checklist includes "sense of humor!"

haha yea, i saw "sense of humor" too

Dont forget your liver... (sorry parents)

on a more serious note, you probably won't need a wrench to loft up your bed. It's the type where the bedposts have notches in them that the frame fits into. You will, however, need someone to help you loft them as they are awkward and sometimes difficult.

A few questions:

Do you vacuum the room, or does someone else do it?

Do the washing machines in the dorms need quarters?

Are there clothes dryers?

You can borrow a vacuum cleaner from the customer service desk, I think, but it's more convenient to bring your own from what I've heard.

You will need many quarters. Seriously, start collecting them now-if you do spot a change machine it is highly likely that it won't work.

The clothes dryers are next to the washing machines.

I've been told by the USC Orientation folks you can use a card for the laundry rather than quarters. Was the info they were giving at Orientation wrong?

Some buildings use quarters, some use a laundry card, some use your ID card with discretionary. It all depends on where you live.

We toured Birnkrant during Orientation. The tour included a peek into the laundry room. The washer and dryer appeared to only have a slot for a card, and no place to put quarters. Maybe other dorms are configured differently.

All the dorms have different machines... At Parkside you have a couple options: Quarters, Laundry Card, Discretionary (from USCard)

New/North uses a laundry card. I'm pretty sure that eventually, all the machines are going to be switched over to a card system.

Is Pardee a card or quarter system?

Marks Hall is a card system.

Is Marks Tower a card system as well? Thanks.

How does one get laundry cards?
