****Freshman Transfer****

I am currently attending UCF as a freshman. If i want to transfer to Ohio State in the spring, will i be eligible for scholarships?

The vast majority of scholarships are awarded to income new freshmen for the fall term. They are not awarded to transfer students.

If the school awards merit scholarships,to transfers, it is more like,y that you would get one for the fall term, not the spring term.

You have been in college for what…a week or two? Why are you transferring?

Are you instate for OSU?

Pretty unrealistic. What exact scholarships were you thinking of?

I highly doubt that you would get any scholarship money as a transfer.

Unless your parents are willing to pay the whole OOS cost for OSU, this doesn’t sound workable.

I just looked at OSU’s websites… their scholarships are for Incoming Fall Freshman.

What if i have scores that well exceed the requirements for scholarships? U think they would make an exception?

No.

The reason they offer those awards to incoming fall frosh is because they are buying the best class so that they can report those numbers for ranking purposes. A student coming later (you, spring) does nothing for their reporting purposes.

You might call OSU on Tuesday and find out if your withdraw now from UCF and then apply for NEXT FALL at OSU, will they consider you an incoming frosh for merit purposes.

That just isn’t how the majority of scholarships work, you are not understanding the basics–almost all significant scholarships go to entice first time freshmen. Mom2 explained why. Exception? Did you win a Nobel prize or something? Good suggestion to see if you can apply as a freshman.

You think they should make an exception just for you? Don’t expect that to happen. You could have applied as an incoming freshman this year.

Again…school has been I session for a VERY short time. Why are you already considering transferring?
