are you Rodman?

nope...........

Old dorms.

If you live in Old Dorms all your classes will be practically across the street...

isn't it supposed to be really noisy in the old dorms?

Really noisy? They're more social, so I guess people interact more. If you want a fortress of solitude for studying engineering and playing computer games and DDR, then go live in Hereford. lol.

comments on the new dorms please?

old dorms>new dorms

Suite style dorms would be much better for upper class housing, in my opinion.

no no no, not freshman, first year! lol ;)

new dorms > old dorms...more diverse and nicer inside.

I heard the hereford is terrible, is that true?

old dorms>new dorms...more fun, social, interesting (and I live in new dorms...)

jddeadoralibe, yes, hereford is terrible.

hereford is pretty rough because of the distance. I live in old dorms, but I'm always at new dorms, and personally I think both are very social. If you're really into frat/soror life then I'd choose old dorms, but I think new dorms are waaayyy better.

haha isnt it kind of funny that the one who lives in new dorms likes the old dorms, and vice versa? :P

If you live in Brown, your classes are like just 4 minutes away, even much closer than from old dorms - unless you are in the e school in which case only makes a 1 minute difference. Not many people know you can apply to Brown as a first-year! Check it out and apply. It's a pretty cool place: www.brown-college.org

...and Brown has cool upperclassmen to buy you, umm...n/m ;)

What difference does it make? After your first-year if you live with upperclassmen anyway.

And you will have first-year friends in your classes. Besides, Brown is increasing its intake of incoming first-years by 50% to a total of 45. Living in Brown is great - not only do you have your own room but you also have a roommate :) We also have banquets every month that offer better food than in dining halls.

Bkyln2Cornell has toured Brown College and you can ask him to attest to the things I say.

I signed up in order of pref:

McCormick
Alderman

My cousin who is a senior at UVA said living at Brown meant social death. I really hated to hear that because Brown WAS my 1st choice.

tenniscraze, I didn't mean that in a bad way. Think about what upperclassmen can buy that first years can't...

worldshopper, that entirely depends on the person. Some would enjoy Brown more, but most UVA students would probably like Old Dorms more.
