Hey,
Currently a UCF (central florida) freshman. I want to transfer to Utennesee, georgia tech, Uillinois urbana-champaign, and purdue. I am majoring in Aerospace Engineering. I cannot stand living and studying at UCF anymore and want to pursue bigger and better academic chances, and get away from a lot of the stupidity/ignorance/lack of ambition i see here (sorry if its strong).

My HS stats are.
GPA 3.2 (from a tough private school)
SAT math 680
SAT verbal 580
SAT writing 600

College GPA from fall 2006, 4.0

Classes taken:
Calc 1,
Chemistry for engineers (gen chem) w/ Lab
English Comp. 1
Gen. Sociology
Intro to engineering w/ lab

Fall = 15 credit hours

I am signed up for:
Calc 2
Physics I w/ lab (calc based)
Micro Economics
American gov (basically pol. science)
English comp 2.

Spring = 17 credit hours.

Does anyone have any idea on chances with these stats? I have a job that i work 5-8 hours a week doing, i have done a couple volunteer things... but not too much, i have been doing one or two clubs (sadly they dotn meet too much so i only get about 2 hours a week of clubs).

When i was in highschool, i studied to get my private pilots license. got 33 flight hours, but i cant fly now because there is no place to learn.

I really appreciate any help i can get. Is it difficult to transfer to any of those schools having only 1 year of college done? I just dont think i can handle UCf anymore, i feel miserable here. Thank you, greatly appreciated.

It is possible to transfer to the schools you mention...

You should be good for the UT-Knoxville and UIllinois. With Purdue, you need to check what majors are still open to transfers. At GTech, you have a decent chance.

I just submitted my georgia tech transfer app. It felt short, only 2 pages. It had no place to put any extra curriculars, no place for an essay or anything. Do i send something like a resume? Can anyone help me out? i dont know if what i did will get me into georgia tech, as an entering sophmore.

GT doesn't really have too much interest in seeing people go on and on about how great they feel they are. Don't worry about the length, just make sure you filled everything out properly and answered things fully.

Also, is it just the students at UCF or do the professors not seem to care either? If its just the students then you could work out to be one of the brightest and get the best opportunities because of your work ethic.

Uhh well, its weird at UCf. almost all students dont care about anything cept partying and drugs etc..., and a lot of the teachers work part time. Only a few professors really care i believe. mainly the ones who graduated MIT or such.

my chemistry professor has been to MIT and says that i shouldnt stay at UCF lol.

so, do you think it will hurt or help me if i sent a resume? just to say that i do other things at the campus and like to help people. Or should i send a personal statement. I wrote one about a great experience i had over springbreak, helping make a computer network and computer lab on an underdeveloped island for a school... lol
