Freshman Year GPA

Ok, so I just finished my freshman year, and my gpa sucks (I have two b’s this year). Right now, I have around a 91/100 with all honors, but since I am transferring to another school, my gpa will be a 4.3 weighted (school only does weighted). My grades this year are:

91
96
84 (!)
93
90
96
94
91
86 (!)

If I bring up my gpa sophomore and junior year by taking all honors/ap’s, do I even stand a chance of getting into Columbia?

Thanks

Dude, you’re fine. Just focus on these coming years. You don’t need a 4.0 and a 1600 to get into an Ivy. An unweighted 3.8+ in rigorous courses with a 1500+ SAT will suffice. It’s going to come down to your essays, EC’s, and LOR’s at that point anyway.

Look at it this way: Your stats are going to make you competitive for consideration by the admissions committee, but the other stuff is what will actually get you admitted.

Just make sure you take rigorous courses and keep your GPA at 3.8+ unweighted. Aim for a 1500+ SAT or a 33+ ACT as well.
