Freshman year grades

<p>It depends on where you want to go. Your freshman year grades aren’t going to matter as much as your junior year grades, but colleges will know your grades from all four years and it’s only going to get harder from here.</p>

<p>Like halcyon said, it depends. Do you go to a magnet/boarding school? What courses are you taking? What colleges are you looking at? Are you involved in extracurriculars?</p>

<p>In general, an upward trend is good, and freshman grades won’t matter as much as your current grades. If you’re applying to Stanford, they don’t take freshman grades into account. It’s hard to say for sure, though–like other people said, there are factors to consider, like academic rigor or extenuating circumstances, like a death in the family or financial hardships, etc.</p>
