<p>They don't count, unless you got Fs and Ds in all your classes or something. Period.</p>
<p>I hope they don't..even though I got all As, I only took four academic classes one semester..ha!</p>
<p>They don't look at it largely because they believe it is a transition period from middle school to HS. In many cases it is a drastic transition for students.</p>
<p>They don't pay particular attention to it, but C's won't look that great. Your frosh year grades are calculated into your gpa so they invariably count even if admissions doesn't look at the courses/grades.</p>
