@j.a.c.k.__s.p.e.l.l.m.a.n. and @ArcForce21 You two should check out the High School Class of 2021 thread. (I"m taking Algebra 2 H as well, just btw.)
As an incoming freshmen, I do have to say that HS seems a bit daunting. Just remember that grades aren’t the only thing you need to do well on, maintaining and building good relationships with school staff, especially teachers, and friends are also very important. Friends help your mental health, and being friends with teachers gets you a lot of favors along the way (just don’t be friends with them just for favors…that’s not how friendship works).
@raventhemage can you post a link to that thread. Thanks
@j.a.c.k__s.p.e.l.l.m.a.n. if I could give you one piece of advice it would be enjoy the journey. I imagine that has you saying what does that mean…well I’ll attempt to clarify. There is a lot of focus on college and your subsequent career which is quite a bit heaped on the shoulders of a 13-15 year old. It usually makes most students paranoid that essentially one wrong step, class or grade can make or break your “life plan”. A good percentage of people at any age are not sure what they want to do, or be. I say enjoy the process. View Freshman year as an opportunity to be more mature, to sample different interests, to refine your ideas of real friendships. Find out what kind of teaching you like or learn better from. And take classes based on real interest rather than what is gonna look the best 4 years from now. I encourage you to challenge yourself and take risks. Oh and if you don’t have failing on your to do list in high school add it…no I don’t mean your classes but I mean get stuff wrong…seriously it gives more muscle than lifting weights sometimes. Just enjoy the process…it goes fast and sure there are lots of opinions on the right steps …take it or leave it but truly wish you the best!!
@badbonz11 those were some wise words
