If I successfully transfer into a school for its spring semester, does that preclude transfering into another school for the fall semester of my sophomore year?

I did/am doing that

so right now, you’re in a school that’s different from the school you started/ended fall semester with

and you applied for transfer for next fall too?

just wanted to be clear/are there any logistics that would need to be cleared?

haha yes. i wasn’t happy at my school first semester freshman year, so i applied/got into the schools i wanted for spring but made an impulse decision and attended the school i wasn’t really considering as much. now, i got into the school i WAS considering for spring, again, and i will be enrolling there in the fall. so that’s my third school as a sophomore. guess i’m a floater!

i will say that as a spring transfer, it was really hard to find a fit. i hope it’s easier in the fall, since everyone will be moving in to somewhere new and there will be plenty more new faces around. however that’s not my reasoning for transferring again, i just realized that a traditional college feel wasn’t what I was interested in and would prefer a school that has more of a career focus and is in the city as well as a train ride away from my hometown if i’m ever in need of a home cooked meal :)

errr, you lost me.

From what I collect, you started off at college A. You considered two colleges, B and C, that both accepted spring transfers. You liked B more but then you transfered into C, and then you reapplied (and presumably got in already?) and will be heading to B next fall. So you are at C as we speak?

Was it harder to manage? Like the transfer of credits and all that logistical stuff. Also, the basis upon which B considered your transfer application was your academic experience at A instead of C right? Like B doesn’t even know you’re now attending C?

Or am I just plain confused?

Yes, sorry I kind of tried to spit that out really quickly but that is correct!

And they only had my first university’s transcript to look at, as I had nothing to show on my current transcript.

Regarding credits… when I transferred in the spring, I also switched majors from Biology to Dietetics, and now I will be switching back to Biology. I haven’t received my official credit evaluation from them yet but it doesn’t weigh much as the classes I took this semester would not count towards a degree in bio.

So, may I ask, why you decided to transfer into C at all? Was A unbearable, or was it just that you weren’t sure you could’ve made B so given a choice between A and C, you chose C?

My primary school was very far away from home, and it was mostly in-state students. I often felt as though for them it was high school all over again and though I found plenty of friends I felt kind of like an odd man out. The area was very slummy, it was dangerous to leave campus, and the professors (that I had) were incredibly UNhelful and impersonal, and were more into their research than their students.

I came to Vermont instead of a city school like I was initially planning. I thought I needed that atmosphere after what I was exposed to first semester, and in a sense I definitely did. It helped me to mellow out and think about what it was that I really wanted to do, and that was be in the city. Which is where I’m headed next! If anything it was a good experience coming here to really sort my priorities out and give me time to figure out what I wanted to do, but get away from my primary school
