So I’m looking to apply to penn state and my grades are really on point and pretty much up to penn states standards…except for my first semester in freshman year. I pretty much fooled around and got the lowest grades you could possibly think of and it was just flat out embarrassing. But the semester after that I kept and A average. How will this affect my chances of getting accepted?
I can’t really chance you without all your stats but freshman year shouldn’t take a huge toll on your application.
UPDATE
my GPA is a 3.6
AP test scores:
Human Geo-5
Biology-4
Spanish-5
English Lit. And comp.-4
Race:Hispanic
Extra curricular: I performed at multiple pep rally’s through out high school.
Multiple food drives, blood drives, toy drives. Was in NJHS.
Your GPA is a bit low but your AP test scores are pretty good. I’m going to be honest with you; you’re not exactly a competitive applicant so you’re basically applying blind. As in they could choose you (very, very slim chance) but most likely reject you. Up your GPA a bit and be sure to score well on the SAT.
