Current Freshman . I’ve been stressing out recently about my academic standing right now. I was wondering how colleges analyze and interpret freshman year performance. My avg GPA for the fall and winter terms equate to a 3.46 (not sure if school rounds up or not), and I think I might have improved (a little) for this spring term. What would colleges think about this number, from a purely statistical POV. *disregarding EC’s, sports, etc.
Most high-rank schools take into account your freshman GPA like your GPA throughout any year in high school. There are exceptions to that though. I read somewhere that Stanford does not count your freshman grades, but I might be mistaken. Just do your best and work hard for the rest of your high school. Do as much as you can to ensure that you have a steady GPA. I wish you luck!
Upward trends are important too!
