Freshman Year

Hey!

So I posted a plan of my course load for my up and coming freshman homeschool year (sorry for not replying, I've been away) and it's since been revised. In brackets is what I'll be using as primary learning materials. All of them have websites so look them up, please? = ) Composition will be supplemented a lot because I have a feeling it won't be very indepth.

I'm aiming high college-wise, as in Ivy-level but as with everyone, nothing guarantees or can get anywhere near guaranteeing you being accepted but bear it in mind when you're looking at my courseload? I know about all the ECs, etc by the way. = )

I'm planning on, in my maths classes, skipping ahead in stuff I already know (the joys of homeschooling - not falling asleep in class when they're going to slowly or getting rushed ahead when I don't get it) and spending as much time as I need on the stuff I don't get because I have covered Algebra for two years in school but it's my worst subject so it's to be expected, I suppose ;D

I'll be doing all my work and learning independently by my choice and was wondering, will colleges look upon this favourably (as in, should I emphasize it in my app, essay, etc) or not?

Thank you = )

FOREIGN LANGUAGES

This caused some difficulty. Having done french since I was 3/4 until 13 while at school I already knew quite a lot. Because of that, when I looked up french courses I found that French I, II & III were quite easy for me and the only thing I really needed to revise was French III grammar which I never quite 'got' in school. So... what to do? I've no idea right now. I want to start Latin but I'd like to go more advanced with French too. Maybe attempting to read some french books, writing more in french, etc. But French IIII looks a bit odd : D Help?

Well, your courseload looks good and slightly more rigorous than what you find at a traditional school (because you are taking more classes). My suggestion for foreign language is to continue high level french at a local CC or start a new language taking courses either at a local CC or online from something like CTY, CTD, or any other program of that nature.
