Freshmen/8th Grade SAT - does it show up?

I'm a rising junior, and I recently scored a 2180 Composite on the SAT. This is my third time to take the test (I took it once freshman year and once in 8th grade).

Colleges look down on taking the test more than three times, as I've been told. But I was also told that the 8th grade test didn't count since I wasn't in high school, so I would have one more shot at the end of next year. I just need to know whether or not the 8th grade test counted and thus if I should or shouldn't take it again? Thanks in advance!

I have read that 8th grade scores are automatically erased by the College Board, unless you requested they keep them on your file. Check with the CB and see if that score is still on your record

8th grade scores are not looked at by colleges, even those who require all scores to be sent.

That’s a relief
WatchfulEye - I’ll check with them to make sure
Thanks to both of you!

Most colleges will not consider an SAT/ACT score that is more than 3 years old. If you do not opt for score choice, your 8th and 9th grade scores will appear on your SAT record, but a college would disregard them, as they are more than 3 years old.

I think that WatchfulEye is correct. If you take the SAT in middle school, it does not appear on score reports that are sent to colleges nor do you see the scores when you go into your own College Board file once you are in high school, and I do think that the scores are purged by College Board.

So the other thing to keep in mind is if you or your child takes SATs for a talent-search-type program, keep the official score report when it is sent.
