Any way around the no-cars-for-on campus-freshmen rule?

If the parking permit is some sort of mobile object.....could I get one from a graduating senior??? ;)

Or would that totally not work....sigh. Man. I need to be able to travel quickly on the weekends. I wouldn't have a problem with public transit, but its just so slow....and a headache.

there's no rule like that. however it is really inconvenient for freshmen to have cars on campus. you get your choice of lots based on how many credits you have. so freshmen usually get lot 6 which is the comcast center garage, i believe. and u have to move your car before basketball games or risk paying fines.

i would recommend not bringing a car at all. chances are you will be able to get wherever you want using the UM shuttle or the metro. most freshmen don't have cars.

you can park on campus as a freshman, but like others already said, its sort of pointless, because you have to park in the comcast lot, which is very far aaway from everything, espically if you live on South Campus
