Yo my name is Josh I am freshman at UPenn in the Wharton School. This site helped me out a ton last year. So im here to help you guys out through the college process. Yo any questions…post them in the thread and I will be happy to answer them. Or if I am online just IM me and ask ur questions…

Josh,
im thinking about applying e.d. to penn. penn is my dream school. my grades and sats are pretty good. do you recommend that i apply to wharton or does just applying to the college raise my chances of getting in?

it all depends on your mood I guess. If I am down on south street then it it definitely Gino's. BUT if I am Lazy....as I usually am.....and I am on campus there is a new place that just opened called Tony Luke's which is clutch....and they take Dining Dollars so it is no money outta my pocket.....

well it is really depends on your personal choice. if you really want to go to wharton then i would never discourage you from doing so. though if you just want to come to penn and wharton is not that important, it is def easier to get into just the college at penn.

they are both great places of higher learning, and they both produce some of hte most succesful people in the world.

i would have to give penn a ten. it is greater than i could ever have imagined. everyone is nice i have great friends and i am getting an amazing education.
josh

this semester i am taking math 103, management, micro-economics, and spanish.

math 103 is so easy its pretty much highschool but easier, my prof doesnt speak english hes german straight off the boat so that makes it harder, but its still not bad.

management is taken by all wharton fresh its pretty much apprentice stuff.

econ is also cake i usually dont go to it or math
spanish i go to its is worth while and hard to miss language classes

the atmosphere at penn is amazing
it is an amazing place to meet unique people in an intellectual environment. the prof's are here to help and the graduate teaching asssitants relate well.

the social life is crazy.... we are def the party ivy... if you want to drink you can do that and if not there is a lot of other stuff to do too

plus there is downtown which is always fun.... the dance clubs and resturants are amazing

it is said to be very competitive but i dont see it here
everybody helps eachotehr we are all in the same boat
peace josh

most classes have powerpoint slides online so i get those or just read the book..... or just take the test and yes i miss stuff but so does everybody.

How long are the classes (time-length wise)? How long do your tests take? Would you recommend another student to skip a class if that person feels that individual thinks that he/she knows the material?

There are some students that just pick up on stuff fairly quickly and effortlessly, are you that type of person?

Josh- what math did you take in high school. How do you know whether to start with 103 or 104? Did you take calculus (AP or regular) in high school?
