freshmen dorms/doubles/triples

My daughter, who is going to be a Junior, had a single in Rodney freshman year and LOVED it. She started out in a double but asked to be moved for various reasons and she ended up having a fantastic year. It was small, but she made everything fit. The dorm itself was old and sort of run down but she absolutely didn’t care. She’s living off campus this year with 4 girls who she met on her floor freshman year. Also, never heard anything about bugs when she was there!

Bugs according to my daughter were the harmless lady bugs, and they were EVERYWHERE, even over at the towers. She was on one of the very top floors in the towers and lady bugs were on the screens windowsills constantly. I believe it is the "state bug?

On the other hand, being a kid from the NE, had never in her life seen or had the pleasure of the “smell” of stink bugs, however found out quickly.

Stink bugs, tame friendly black squirrels that will almost sit in your lap and colonies of lady bugs three non human oddities/quirks she found fascinating freshman year.

I lived in rodney e last year. The rodney bugs do actually exist haha. They’re the freakiest bugs ever…harmless, but just way too many legs, and they popped up whenever you least expected it. Definitely exaggerated of course, I mean I probably saw all of 3 or 4 the entire year.
I actually LOVED living in a single. I requested a double originally and was pretty upset when I found out I was in a single. But from the first day on, the girls on my friend were my best friends. (To the point where I couldn’t keep them out of the room even with the door closed) I’m also the kind of person that is more organized in a smaller space. As long as you keep it clean and neat, there was always plenty of space- even to have friends over.
Rodney is in a great spot in regards to the distance to class and the fact that west campus is all freshmen. You get used to the trains and honestly, you bond a lot more with people from rodney and dickinson because you survived the “rodjects”
