<p>i read the other post about csumb being quite dead on the weekends... after i read it i was kinda ehh</p>

<p>As a CSU drinking is not allowed in the freshman or sophomore dorms in compliance w/ state laws. The UCs are the same way and Cal publics have all become more strict on underage drinking in recent years.</p>
<p>From what I hear there is more of a night life in the apartments if partying is your thing.</p>
<p>CSUMB has a high percentage of on campus residency but a lot of people who live on campus have family locally and do go home on weekends. That’s not to say that everyone does. Like High School, it all depends on what you are into. They have a really active outdoor club which takes trips every weekend, Santa Cruz and Monterey are great spots to hang on a Saturday or Sunday plus this entering freshman class is the largest ever and therefore there are bound to be more kids on campus on weekends.</p>
<p>The pace there is going to be slower but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. You get out of it what you put in.</p>
