does NYU count freshmen GPA? I really messed up freshmen year with a GPA in the low 2.0's ... but 3.2 at sopho, and 4.4 at junior... do I stand a chance? Given that my sat I , II scores are great, ec good, and essay is good? I will be taking 5 AP classes senior year and I want NYU to see that I am doing well in Senior year as well... So should I apply early? or regular? If I apply regular I can send them my 1st semester sr year grade right? Oh I want to attend CAS by the way

Colleges tend to view positive trends in a very high light. If you've done really well in sopho/jr. year and everything is as you say, then you shouldn't worry too much about it. In the "Extra Info" section of the application you might want to even write about the circumstances in your life that contributed to your low grades freshman year, and how you overcame them and grew into the person you are today.

yes, college admissions love it when someone "overcomes change" and blah blah blah, all that good stuff. i say you're fine.

do you guys think intotherain can get into Stern with those stats too?
