Freshmen grades in High school matter?

<p>Question: My Freshman grades in Highschool were horrible [see below for actuall grades]. If I was able to improve over the next three years and manage 4.0's and above 2300 SAT above 34 ACT, including extracurricular clubs, sports and community service and all the good stuff, would I still be able to get into harvard or Johns Hopkins etc. based on this grades.? </p>

<p>For all of you out there who can answer my question:
Just got the report card for my high school grades....And guys i go to a diffrent high school than most, this school offers the IB and follows its curriculum so it is tougher than a normal HS..approximately if you get a B+ or an A- it is equivelent to an A. </p>

<p>Freshman Year achievements & GPA:</p>

<p>GPA for my school:</p>

<p>A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
etc...</p>

<p>Semester 1 GPA: 3.7 (A-)</p>

<p>Semester 2 GPA: 3.8 </p>

<p>Achievements Freshmen year:</p>

<p>Economics State challenge David Ricardo division:State finals 4th place</p>

<p>Solo and Ensemble (Violin): District: 1st rating. State: 2nd rating.</p>

<p>Clubs Freshman Year:</p>

<p>Model United Nations.</p>

<p>Physics Olympiad</p>

<p>Science Olympiad</p>

<p>Next year goals:</p>

<p>French Honor society Inductie</p>

<p>Physics Olympiad</p>

<p>Model United Nations</p>

<p>Science Olympiad</p>

<p>Building with Books (BwB)</p>

<p>Class officer </p>

<p>Sports (Football/Basketball)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.02 (cannot get higher than this)</p>

<p>OK, a few comments to make...</p>

<p>First, as fusiondogg said, you really should not post this in of the Class threads but rather post it in the general threads. The Class of 2010 and Class of 2011 threads are for questions from students who have been admitted and mostly are from those students who are enolling at Hopkins.</p>
