Theoretically, if I was to hold a party in my dorm with alcohol involved, how much trouble will I get in if I get caught?

What are some tips to not get caught?

Theoretically, will I get in trouble if they can only smell it? Also, theoretically, if I pour the alcohol in a punch bowl or something will i still get in trouble?

this isn’t the best idea when the RA is around. my RA will knock on people’s doors if they hear something suspicious, or if they suspect a pong game going on. realistically speaking, RAs probably know that a lot of their floor drinks. they just don’t want to physically see any alcohol or anybody acting drunk/throwing up. that is the only way you can get in trouble, you will get documented for what you did wrong. if they smell it they might ask what’s going on, and if they’re strict they have the right to come in your room and make sure you aren’t doing anything bad. nobody on my floor has gotten in deep trouble for alcohol, but it is very risky and depends on the individual RA.

They dont go out of there way to catch kids, generally keep the door closed and keep the volume at a reasonable level and they usually wont bother you. But if they can see it, hear it or smell it, chances are youre going to get written up. First time offenders just get a meeting with a hall director and you get a warning, second time the same thing happens but now youre on probation do one small thing wrong after that you’ll either get moved to a different campus or you’ll get kick out of on campus housing entirely

If someone gets really sick, like in the bathroom, and the RA sees it; they are obligated to call for an ambulance and RUPD. I have seen it happen. Don’t let it get out of control.
