Hi I'm currently on the wait list for on-campus housing, and I was wondering if you guys have been / know someone who has been in that situation.

What are the chances of getting off the wait list usually?
And are any of you living off campus as freshmen students?

what college are you attending

I have. You just have to tell the college about your living arrangement and find roommates. You can find them in orientation.

Not sure about this year but last year my friend submitted the housing application late (I think after the deadline) She’s from Muir but didn’t get to live in Muir but is not living in Marshall res.hall. It’s possible that you’ll get off of waitlist but you might be placed somewhere that’s not in your college. I know a bunch of my Marshall friends who live in Revelle because of overflow.
Actually, during the school year I am pretty sure each college has some empty space. Like I have a friend who used to live off campus but then later in winter quarter switched into on campus housing. A couple of friends who lived in Marshall apt and then had to move to another Marshall apt because of some problems. It’s possible for people to switch from res.hall to apt later as well because my friend’s done it.

I’m in Marshall. What do you mean tell them about the living arrangement? I called SD, and the woman on the line was literally giving me the sorry oooooh the whole time, saying I probably can’t get housing for all four years… (It was contradicting the information I found online saying that people usually get in in the following quarters)

Thanks so much for your guys’s contributions btw.
