This might be a stupid question but do we buy the book and read it or is it sent to us? And if we get it in the mail, when can we expect it to arrive?

They mail you a copy of the book sometime within the next several weeks.

Someone on the facebook group mentioned it was being mailed out in July.

yeah, they said we're not supposed to buy it, it'll be mailed in July (it was an admin on the facebook group who said it, like Johnson181 said, not just a member or anything)

with that said, I went ahead and bought it, since i'll be out of the country for the entire month...

everyone does know that it's "Field Notes from a Catastrophe," right?

Hey guys, why are you doing such a big deal for nothing? Every freshman reading is very easy and means nothing, no one would get a hard start for no knowing exactly every chapter of the book. Unless you want to submit the essay, don't worry about the book until last very moment (and not even then)

At least for our class, they just used it so we had something in common at first. We had a discussion about the book, but unless you're actually interested in the book, there's no real need to read it
