Freshmen Seminars -- Do You Recommend?

This question goes out to current students, really....

Do they generally require as much work as a normal class?

Do most freshmen take a seminar?

Is it OK if you're interested in taking a certain seminar but don't have much background in the subject matter?

Ultimately...... are they worth it?
:) Thanks in advance.

Ooooh, I was going to ask the same exact thing, but oh well, knowing me if I do the seminars I'll end up doing Calculating Pi or Chess and Mathematics.

You should definitely take one. There is such a great variety of seminars, you get to take a small class with a professor, they're pass/fail, etc. . . .

It's worth it. I don't know of anyone who really disliked their seminar.

Definitely take one! They can be so interesting + it makes your freshman year a lot easier to have a low-key, pass fail class (although a couple seminars are tough).

I recommend my seminar, Law of the Internet, for people interested in tech OR law.

whats a seminar im about to be a freshmen in hs too and at your highschool you take law...OMG i wana take it too

the seminars are for freshmen at harvard, not for freshmen in high school.

Are Advanced Standing students allowed to take Freshman seminars? In other words, do Advanced Standing students enter as freshmen or sophomores?

Advanced Standing students can take freshman seminars. I believe advanced standing isn't "activated" until sophomore year.
