wow..thx..this thread is really helpful to me!

Dude you're like my clone. I have the same problem, but on a smaller scale.

Okay, in 8th my lowest grade was a 98.3. So I got kind of cocky, I finally had discovered I was friggin smart.

So 9th grade I ended up with a 3.5 because I was being an idiot and basking in my own glory while my grades dropped.

Sophomore year, which i just finished, I did fine, got a 3.8 and took an AP I wasn't supposed to be in.

I've heard colleges don't care that much about freshmen year, but when it gets down to the final applicants they are deliberating over, I think it may hurt me.

I hope it doesn't hurt you because then it won't hurt me. Good luck dude, I'm glad to find someone else with the same problem.

You can definetly redeem yourself. Colleges don't always look for perfect grades, they look for their trend. If you improve your grades substantially, you can still have a good chance at though schools. The trend of your grades is just as important as the grades themselves. So go for it!

what do you want to go to college for? Maybe the same thing as I do? :D

@KallynMN, yeah, hopefully. And welcome to College Confidential boards!

I have two top choices. First, I want to try to become a heart surgeon, so med school. If that doesn't work out, I've always been interested in how money works and how I can make it grow without labor work, so business is choice two.

What about you dude?
