how are people selecting their seminar? are you looking for something that goes with your major/something you can use down the line or just a fun and interesting class? im not sure which way to go about it.

You should check with your major's department, but many 100 level classes don't count towards a major/minor. It's something to keep in mind when choosing a seminar, since many of them are numbered 190S. They are definitly meat to be a fun and interesting class that has a different focus than any other academic class. Something you wouldn't normally find in a another class. Many people take a seminar outside of their major.

they tell you to try to look outside your major to broden your knowledge and to see what else there is. i think it is a good idea to pick something that is interesting even if it is in a completely different area than you are thinking. you might like it. it just turns out that one of the ones i'm considering is in my major.. o well

I'm going to be a business major, so the logical choice would be a related field like economics. However, I am leaning towards a history course because it sounds awesome!

I'm taking the freshman seminar about the history of atlanta. The course seems interesting and from what I can tell the prof, Dana White, seems great. The Braves consulted him when they built their history museum and he does a lot of documentaries. I hope the class is as enjoyable as it looks.

bump.......
