Fricken Regrets

I am a freshman at Northern Illinois University. It does not have a country wide recognition but does have a statewide recognition. I believe overall it is a below average school even though it has a great law and philosophy program.
I messed around in high school and got a 2.8 GPA out of 4.0 and got a 23 on the ACT. I wish i could change that but i can't. I went to NIU because it was the only school i got accepted to.
In my freshman first semester year i got a 3.8 GPA. I worked my ass off. I plan on getting a 4.0 this semester and transferring out in fall of 2011. These are the schools i plan on applying Northwestern, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of Illinois at Chicago.

I have already applied at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and am halfway done with Northwestern.
How much of a chance do i have of getting into these universities?

Generally speaking, the more college credits you have, the less your HS record matters when it comes to Transfer decisions. You have a great shot at University of Illinois–Chicago and will be a solid competitor for Northwestern (though I am not familiar with their admissions stats in transfers). Also consider applying to DePaul and even U of C (though the latter is obviously a high reach, it’s worth a shot.)
