Friday is the day!

No, that language is a bit misleading, but true. They have room in their first year class for one in nine, meaning that one in nine will enroll at Williams. That doesn’t mean that one in nine was accepted. Many who were accepted will not enroll. They had 6050 applicants and accepted 1220. You do the math.

I just want to add that the percentage of applicants accepted is only one part of the “how selective is it?” question. The other part has to do with how strong the applicant pool is. A school that gets a lot of weaker applicants may appear harder to get into if you just look at the percentage of students accepted. You also have to know how strong the pool is, and I don’t think we know that about this year’s applicants yet, although from looking at the strength of some of the people who didn’t get in, it seems to have been a very competitive one.

im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! im in! hops around in joy :D

rejected. 35 on the ACT and a 4.0 but im a white female so what are you gonna do. i got into wash u in st. louis and northwestern tho, so it’s okay. congrats to everyone who got in!

I’m in! Incredible, considering I’m an international and our rates are far far more selective.

Quite happy (:

waitlisted…But I’m happy because I was totally preparing myself for a rejection!

rejecteddddd it’s okay though since i’ve gotten into some other pretty good schools. its funny how some will take you and some won’t and you’re the exact same person.

i’m sure anyone who applied is really smart, so i hope no one is getting too down about this if they were rejected. williams just wants to be elite and accept only a fraction of those that apply. it’s not you - it’s them!

I GOT ACCEPTED!!!
I can’t believe this!

Are we posting stats on this thread or is it just your decision?

Major congrats to acceptees, and I truly feel for those who were rejected/waitlisted. I know how it feels. I was deferred by Cornell Early Decision and was outright rejected by Duke yesterday.
I don’t even know how I got into Williams, to tell you the truth.

I’m international and I got flat out rejected by Williams. I’m scared of the coming Tuesday though, cuz I’m gonna hear from 3 Ivies.

Congrats to acceptees.

waitlisted

accepted!!!

Waitlisted. Stats in other thread.

ChandlerBing, I’m so happy for you!!! I’ve seen your post across the other boards, especially Yale, and you seemed to have absolutely no hope for yourself. But now… congrats! :-D

I got deferred from ED then got in today RD!
Good luck everyone. I certainly had mine…

OH EM GEE CHANDLERBING CONGRATS!!!

I knew you would get in the first time I saw your chance thread. ha. XD

@ goldenratiophi and limetime: Thanks!!! I’m still reeling with shock.
I hope to see you both at Previews! (I’m so going, and I have no excuse not to, Williams is pretty close by)

Do you know if financial aid comes with the acceptance packages?

I got my big envelope before 6 PM  Lots of dancing around and screaming.

There isn’t any FinAid info in the folder; it just says that FinAid will be mailed around April 1st. I heard on another thread that they were sent out today, so we should be getting them a day or two after the big envelope.

kkari: Wow, that was fast!
I’ll probably be getting my Amherst decision tomorrow (though I hardly care about it at this point… Williams is much higher on my list) so the Williams envelope will probably come around Monday-ish.

Dancing around and screaming was awesome.

Chandlerbing, Congrats!! you totally deserve it. everyone is happy for you!!!

I was surprised too! But it does makes sense because I live in Mass. I also got my much much slimmer Amherst envelope today haha, but it didn’t matter :P
