Fridays Off?????

Hey! I read in a book that one of the best things about Cornell is "fridays off!". Does that mean that you don't have school on fridays? Do you have a 3-day weekend? I was just wondering if anyone can clear that up for me. Thanks!

not sure what they were talking about, but i have 3 'sections' on fridays. These are TA lead group discussions that work to boost the effectiveness of the lectures. But, i dont have any actual lecture classes on fridays. My girlfriend in architecture does have friday classes.

Some people are able to get away with friday's off, but that is some people, and this is probably true at every college. Personally, I have 3 lectures and a 3 hour lab on friday, so friday is the worst day of the week for me. Next semester I'm only going to have two lectures and a section.

I can't speak for the other colleges at Cornell, but for engineering it seems like it would be very hard to impossible to get fridays off (at least for a freshman).

Of course, if you really wanted friday's off, you could just not go to classes, but that's not a good idea.

actually, i believe upperclassmen in ilr have fridays off. My fridays next semster will be signficantly lighter, i think only one lecture.

It depends on your schedule. If you pick classes so that you do not meet on fridays then, well, you have fridays off. I know several upperclassmen who have this arrangement. Bust your ass at the beginning like I am and maybe you, too can have fridays off! ;)
