Hello Columbians,
I just have a small question on the fridge status in Columbia. I was wondering whether it is better to rent or buy a fridge on my own, it would be great if anyone would tell me approximate prices.

Thank you.

You can get a nice mini-fridge for $50-75.

When I was there, renting a fridge for 1 year was about $75. And the fridges they provided were dented and sometimes rancid.

Storing your purchased fridge every summer is a pain and expensive. But do the math-- overall it is better to get your own.

Buy one. By the time my brother was in junior year, he was living in EC and managed to sell his fridge to a freshman for half of what he paid to buy it. All told, he spent $35 to "rent" a new fridge for 2 years.

Not bad.
