Fridges

Okay, so there is this major arguement in my house over fridges.. yes stupid i know.. but i have indian parents who are stingy.. lol

Anywho. here is the deal.
I went to target and got the cheapest fridge which is 1.7 CU without a freezer.
My grandma says that i need a freezer cuz i drink all my drinks with ice because i am wierd like that.. i returned the fridge i got to target and am pursuing a well priced fridge for my dorm room with a freezer.

My dad is angry at me cuz i wasted money for a stupid little box called a freezer that holds one stupid little tray of ice.

Is it worth buying a fridge with a little freezer box in it that holds a tray. Or should is spend the money on a slightly bigger fridge?

thanks!

That little box may prove useful for a couple TV dinners and several frozen burritos. Don't underestimate it.

get the freezer. you never know when you'll want icecream or popsicles or tv dinners like Big Brother said.

I would also recommend the freezer. I've had to use it on more than one occasion. And if by indian parents, you mean parents from india, then I've got those too, if it's any help.

ah hah!.. lol " those"

I guess it's final, i will get the fridge with the freezer!
thanks everyone!!

Lowes has a dorm fridge with an actual seperate freezer on top - we got it at Lowes (got it as a birthday present). She wanted to be able to keep ice cream and a couple of things like toaster strudels for when she does not have time for breakfast and a couple of frozen dinners. She loves it.

swimcatsmom, I got my dorm fridge from Lowes, as well. It's between 3-4 cubic feet and has a separate freezer.

I don't make ice cubes in the freezer, but I keep some frozen dinners in there. It's a useful think to have. My brother has a 1.7 ft.^3 fridge or something around that and it just has a small freezer box in it. It's pretty much worthless. Definitely invest in a fridge with a stacked freezer.
