Friend forgot awards - what to do?

My friend submitted some competitive nonrestricted Early Action applications but didn't notice the awards tab because it wasn't "required." He had some really good stuff to put in. Should he email the schools with them or no? (as you can tell from my post history this isn't a personal story)

sorry if this has been discussed a billion times, I couldn't find it (perhaps "forgot" is a bad search query?)

A.) Colleges want to admit the best applicants, not to trip them up,
B.) Admissions wants everything (now!!!) so they can make the best-informed decision
C.) It is not a game, with rules and “you’re out” if you transgress. There are clear ethics, but no arbitrary rules.

Of course send in the information, follow up with an email- connect the information to his application as soon/fast and accurately as possible. And if he received another award in the interim, tell them about that too! Don’t let him shoot himself in the foot out of intimidation or politeness!

What is the downside of submitting (hint: none)? What is the downside of not submitting (hint: rejected)? Pretty easy decision. Time is of the essence- and follow up to explain the urgency by phone.
