So my friend got off the waitlist, he said he accepted the offer pretty early and heard back pretty early. There is still hope for everyone! I sent in my waitlist essay today and hope to hear good news. Has anyone else done this?

Congrats to your friend. Im still working on the essay, hopefully I can finish by this week. Davis is top choice hoping to get accepted off the waitlist. Good luck to you. :)

Your friend got off the waitlist in a matter of 3-4 days? Seriously?? WOW!

Gratz to ur friend!

he actually accepted the waitlist offer Friday and was accepted the next morning.

it is highly likely that your “friend” is lying to you:

http://admissions.ucdavis.edu/waitlist/FRwaitlist_FAQ.pdf

If this is legitimate, it must have been some fluke (ie. they reviewed his wait list essay and admitted him as if it was an appeal.) They generally don’t start admitting wait listed applicants until after the May 1st SIR deadline.

Not lying, I think it worked for him because his brother is president of a frat

I call bs. The waitlist is for spots that will open up after SIR’s have been submitted. Doesn’t make sense that they would accept sooner.

Proof?!

I highly doubt that UC Davis would break the college tradition of admitting students so early. Waitlist students are basically safety nets for colleges in case their freshmen class isn’t big enough, and I’ve never heard of a waitlist student get accepted so soon after being on the waitlist.

Anyway… good luck to everyone, crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. :)

Call bs all you want like I care lol. I’m just saying that some people are getting off the waitlist early probably due to special circumstances, like in this case friend’s brother goes to Davis and all that jazz.

Downside is that you get **** for money
