I'm starting a chapter of Mu Alpha Theta (national math honor society) at my school next year.

A friend, upon hearing this, wants to start his own chapter of an honor society just for college apps. =/ I know that's not inspirational but he insists on doing it and he won't stop bugging me until I find one for him. I suggested Cum Laude Society but I didn't know that its chapters don't exist in the form of clubs. He aspires to be a doctor, so does anyone know a medical or science honor society (or any medical/science well-known club) that he can start?

=( C’mon, someone help me. He’s about to call me again any minute now. He’s doing this partly because I don’t want to give him a position in Mu Alpha Theta. I decided so because he wants the position just for college app.

Anyhow, my high school was never really into those honors societies. Film club is always fun and attracts the most students. And plus, there’s really no work involved. Just rent a classroom of a sympathetic teacher and play the highest rated film you can get away with.

Don’t try to match your aspirations with the clubs you start. It just seems like resume packing.

He’s doing some ridiculous things just to get into colleges. He says he plan to lie about some of his ECs. =/ I avoid talking to him about college apps whenever I already told him to **** off about some other stuff (he was begging me for a position in Mu Alpha Theta). I just want to get this over with, so can someone give me an actual club (doesn’t have to be an honor society) that he can start?

Because he’s stupid and anal about everything and has to me about everything. he looked one on his own and doesn’t know how to do a thing. He’s very close minded about certain things.

Just because he is incapable of thinking on his own does not mean you are responsible to think for him. What, are you going to write his application essays for him too? Gotta draw the line somewhere, buddy.
