Friend of mine is asking: UPenn Wharton or Harvard?

Hey There,

A freind of mine has a question: What would you choose if you were interested in economics and business? We are for your comparison regarding the strength of these schools on econ and business.

Thanks.

Harvard doesn't have a business school, so it's not much competition for Wharton. But Harvard econ is among the five best in the country (along with Chicago, Stanford, Princeton, MIT...Berkeley too, but more for grad). Harvard has the world's greatest alumni network; Wharton has the world's greatest career services. Both are the best-recruited schools--just about every important and/or prestigious company recruits in droves from both. It really comes down to where you want to live and what you want to study.

AS Trump said, "Harvard has the best business school in the world, only 2nd to Wharton"

Harvard econ majors do just fine in the recruiting game; they have no disadvantage compared to Wharton recruits as a generality. The big issue is how applied do you want your training to be.

Wharton! Wharton! Go To Wharton! Leave Me A Spot At Harvard!

Wharton doesn't just teach you econ, the nature of their coursework forces you to learn about teamwork, leadership, management, and other things that are not a part of the discipline of economics.

Pick Penn|Wharton.

pick penn's wharton :)

Wharton all the way

The Wharton School :)

I'd definately say wharton

Brit: When I applied to college, I was choosing between Wharton, Harvard, and MIT. I ended up narrowing it down to Wharton and MIT simply because Harvard doesn't have a business school. If you major in econ at Harvard, most employers at top firms will expect you to go back and get your MBA. If you go to a school with an undergraduate business program, the choice is up to you.
