Friend transferring from Emory to Other Schools

I got a friend doing Econ at Emory. He wants to apply to some top business schools and other top schools (economics). He isn’t applying to Ross because he doesn’t like Ann Arbor and he isn’t applying to Tepper because they don’t take transfers out of CMU.

He has a 3.4 college GPA (don’t know if it matters but it is a rising trend with lowest grade being first semester of freshman year and raising since then) He has a 1410 SAT from the olden days and 700-750+ for 3 SAT II’s. He has great recs and 2 interns under his belt if you include this summer.

What are his chances at:

Upenn-College of Arts n Sciences–Econ

Cornell-CAS Econ

NYU- Stern

Uchicago Economics

Stanford Econ

Brown-Econ

Dartmouth-Econ

I’m pretty good at offering high school to college advice through my experiences but not so well versed in college to college applications. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not too informed on the whole transfer process to those schools, but I'd assume a 3.4 would be a bit low... From what I hear, business/economics is quite a competitive field. If he can raise the GPA, then he'd have a great chance. Of course, he should still apply and see what happens.

Thanks, anyone else?
