But parents do not know. I think she is going to regret it later in life and she's being impulsive.

What should I do? Just stand idly by?

Perhaps it's just me, as I really don't understand why people bother getting tattoos.

Just let your friend do what she wants.

I dont think its your place to stop your friend.

Tell her to draw it with sharpie first to see if she can live with getting it.

People always say that you will regret getting a tattoo when you are an old man/woman.

PROTIP: when you are an old baggy 70 year old, a tattoo will be the least of your worries

I know a guy whose parents made him get his tattoo removed after they found out about it. If he’d just waited a year until he turned 18, he wouldn’t have had to go through that… I don’t know what your friend’s parents are like, but if she feels like she has to hide it, it’s probably not the best idea. She doesn’t have to get it now.

A friend of mine wants to get tattoos (he’s over 20), but has a rule that he has to want the tattoo for 3 years beforehand first. Or maybe it’s 5. I think 3, though. Anyway, it’s stopped him from getting a couple.

Well she is 18 now. Which is why she’s getting it. But it makes no sense whatsoever, since she’ll still be living at home for another 3 weeks before she goes off to college.

Yeah, it’s not really your place to stop your friend from getting one. You can give your opinion on the design, whether you like it or think it’s no good (saying all tattoos are trashy is not an opinion anyone is going to listen to).

I think the advice given is pretty good. By waiting for a certain period of time or drawing it in sharpie, you can determine if you’re absolutely sure of a design.

Friend=you.

^ No. I don’t want a tattoo at all. I think they are disgusting.

Your friend’s choice. Not yours.

I have a tattoo. Don’t regret it at all.

The only thing I would have you counsel her on not getting it somewhere visible for work purposes.

Be a man. Do the right thing.

^ Russel Peters?

She’s planning to get it on her ankle.

^ Then I wouldn’t worry about it. She might be forced to wear pants at some jobs, but it shouldn’t be a big deal since most jobs have you cover your ankles anyway.

Yes :)

10char

^Awesome :).

Love him lol.

LOL Russel Peters is hilarious.

Be a man. Do the right thing (asian accent).
