Friendly Colleges?

Hi... can anyone point me in the direction of some friendly colleges? Right now I'm looking at Guilford and Goucher, but I'm kind of stuck. My stats are:

Mostly A's and B's with a couple of C's (I had mono)
SAT is 1290 (CR+M)
I do a pretty good deal of extracurriculars but most of them are community service, as my school does not have any clubs or sports.
I'm trying to stay within about 5-6 hours of my home (central VA)

I know that there are friendly people and unfriendly people at all colleges, but some colleges seem to be just more friendly than others.

My older D visited Goucher, lovedi t, was accepted but got no merit aid. Had another girl from our school go there who really liked it.

check university of dallas

Look at some of the Pennsylvania LACs. Lots to choose from and m- ost will probably meet your needs - Allegheny, Gettysburg, Juniata, Franklin Marshall - to name a few.

Guilford is definitely a great option, as are most of the other Quaker schools.

Elon would be worth a look. For a fairly cheap in-state option, U Mary Washington.

Muhlenberg, Susquehanna and Juniata are extremely friendly schools

Why not go to this sites Campus Vibe reports. Here is Elon’s… (a very friendly school)…

DePaul is friendly. Nice students. Good academic programs yet “fun”

Thanks! Has anyone heard anything about Dickinson or Old Dominion University?

I’ve heard extremely good things about Dickinson. Someone from my high school goes there, and I know she loves it. Very small college feel, and that’s what she likes.

I haven’t really heard very good things about ODU, but it’s not like I would know.

I visited Ursinus College, and everyone was really chill and the like

Randolph College in Lynchburg is crazy friendly, but also really small (~500 students). It’s a definite safety.

ODU is in a more urban setting with over 20,000 students. The near and on-campus population is very close and friendly. There are a number of commuters as well, who seem to have a different experience. Thats because they arent as involved in campus life though. Its a very diverse campus, so be prepared to be around a variety of different cultures and lifestyles.

Dickinson is great…super friendly. It’s pretty competitive though, have your guidance counselor mention the mono. I’d also look at washington College and McDaniel College in Maryland.
