Friends, Bruins, countrymen, lend me your click

I'm a Life Science freshman going into my 3rd quarter.

Here are some of the classes I have yet to take:

Chem 14BL
Chem 14C
Stats 10/Stats 13 [I'm not sure which to take. Help?]
Physics 6A
LS1/LS2 [I'm not sure which to take first. Help?]

And I'd like to take into consideration the professors teaching those classes this upcoming quarter.

My first pass is tomorrow and I would like to sign up wisely. Please give me suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

list some professors, I’m too lazy to look.

Chem 14BL - Pang, J.W.
Chem 14C - Hardinger
Stats 10 - Davis G.G or Gould R.L.
Physics 6 - Huang H.Z. or Huffman A.H.
LS1 - Esdin J. or Halpin P.M.
LS2 - Simmons D.D., Cooper R.H. or Phelan J.P.

I’ve got no idea about stats.

As far as LS series - bioE’s don’t have to take LS2, however from anecdotal evidence I’ve heard that “LS 1 is easier, but boring” I believe it covers a lot of the phylogeny stuff from early AP Bio, whereas LS 2 is “tougher, but interesting”. In my experience, LS 2 will be a good amount of work if you don’t have an AP Bio background (got my A in that class because I rocked the first midterm, which was cell biology).

Any other opinions out there? Not sure how life sci physics should be approached, I had started physics 1A in winter of freshman year.

I much prefer LS2 to LS1, but I have Halpin for LS1 and had Esdin for LS2. He’s absolutely great - I’m sure he’ll make LS1 much more interesting, so you should go for that and take LS2 when he’s teaching it again!

As for Chem 14BL, I heard that Pang is more difficult than Russell (that’s who I took) but idk, it’s a difficult class in general. time-consuming, even if you have old labs

physics…I don’t know about those teachers, I have Peroomian right now and I would highly recommend him

Why are you taking stats 10 instead of 13?

Chem 14C is a prereq for LS 3 so if you take LS 2 and want to take LS 3 the quarter after, make sure to take 14C now

Esdin’s good for LS1, Phelan is good for LS2. Don’t really matter which one you take, you’ll have to do both of them eventually.

I’m not sure what the difference between Stats 10 and Stats 13 is and I just realized that Stats 13 is already filled up! O_o

Peroomian sounds great and I’ll wait because I don’t have to start physics for awhile.

I guess I’ll sign up for Chem 14C (Hardinger) and LS1 (Edsin) first for my first pass.

Thanks for the responses!

i thought ur title said “Friends, Bruins, countrymen, lend me your d ick”

through the grapevine, Johnny Pang’s exams have gotten a bit easier since his earlier days of curve destruction in 20L. What I remembered was that Pang = was either notecard or no notes of the midterm where my friend who had Russell was given either a sheet of notes or a notecard. This was ~3 years ago

for my midterm, Russell let us do open notes but for the final it was closed notes. she gave us a formula sheet though, i think

^^^ Lol. I thought the same too.

hahahaha…I read your title as: “Friends, Bruins, countrymen, lend me your dick”
Just had to say it.

Edit: oh…didnt read the above posts. Well at least I’m not the only one.
