actually I think he might get into Harvard... if his essay kicks some serious a$$ that is.

Does he go to Central, Masterman

Wow! What a great friend you are!

Yeah, I'm sure its a "friend"...I think people are just posting stuff to test the water for their own "Rate my chances" threads...

wow people get pretty nasty on these threads.

i'm not black ,as you can see "azn" , he is some what of a friend ,lol
just want to get some comments from this forum , haha

any one think he has a chance?

'somewhat' of a friend? translates to you're afraid he'll get in and harvard will only accept one person from your school so that bodes ill for you?

sorry if that sounded nasty, i really didn't mean for it to be, i just value truth a lot and don't like it when people hide it, if that's the case here.

the admissions process can be subjective, so we couldn't really rate his chances (plus your description is slightly vague), but if he's a passionate, interesting, dedicated person (my interpretation of 'alot alot' under ECs), then sure he does have a good chance despite slightly low test scores.

why you do care that much as to ask others in a forum? you'll find out eventually

he annoys me ..but I dont really dislike him.... He was voted "teachers pet" for the yearbook..600 kids.. most of them voted for him.. now you know why he is annoying.
To answer your question...I would have to wait for about 5 more months for the decision since he is doing.. RD not ED/EA... therefore I would like to know his chances

It's sad that people can't seem to be nice to teachers without being taunted anymore. I don't know him, so he could be the type to suck up to teachers for good grades/recommendations, but what if he's just a genuinely nice guy who appreciates his teachers?

His chances might have been a little higher under EA because that shows dedication to the school. I guess you guys are more like 'acquantainces' then haha.

I did not vote him for teachers pet..I know he does not suck up.... he does not know how to suck up..only reason he was voted teachers' pet because he talks to the teachers alot...especially asking for helps.

For example I have government ap with him... that class is the hardest social studies course at my school..because I have the hardest teacher..hardcore multiple choices.. you know what he does? he stay afterschool almost everyday going over the materials with her... he's too hard working.. what I do ? I normally talk on the phone with girls the night before the test but still manages to get an 85...he worked so hard he has a 78.... his first test was 50 something...he was very disappointed
He annoys me because..I have ap english with him... I dont take note..every little phrase or words he miss...he ask me "can I see your notes" every 5 second and he is very loud...very very loud...the thing is he likes this girl I like...lol , just throw me off...here

BTW I dont think he did EA/Ed for harvard or princeton...

I can suck up better than him... I do it occasionally

Asian, do you type like that on purpose? Yeah, i talk with the ladies before tests too. And your stories and questions are funny to read. What are his EC's?

I guess I did , lol

I have a passion for journalism and participated in a workshop last summer at a university where we produced a student newspaper. My article was published in my town's newspaper as well. I'm the leading journalist on my school's paper. I have extensive leadership qualifications.

I want to be an international journalist. The main school I would love to go to is Harvard, but am also looking at Columbia for its journalism school and American University for its strength in both international studies and journalism. I've only taken the ACT and SAT once, so I think I have a good chance of raising my scores a bit. One girl from my school was accepted into Harvard last year, and as a result, there are a ton of kids from my school applying this year.

Bottom line is, what are your opinions on my chances to get into my schools of choice? I know I don't have outstanding qualifications on paper, but to be frank, I have good writing skills and am well-liked by my teachers. So, my essays and teacher recs will probably only help. I have submitted my newspaper stories to numerous contests and will hopefully win at least one award (cross fingers). I know ad. officers look for passion, and I have that in abundance for journalism. Anyway, any and all opinions are welcome. Thanks!

your minority status help...your SAT is not so great for harvard , nice rank , but it's HARVARD.. you have some shot , bring your SAT up to 1500..you'll kick ass

You know what is absolutely hilarious to me? How SuperAzn started a post asking for someone else chances, and then ANSWERED someone else when they asked for their chances ... Not to specifically point him out, but that was just one of the most glaring examples ... if one has to ask for chances, that clearly shows that they feel they have no way of knowing ... yet they're qualified to tell someone else their chances??? So bizarre ... Just a thought.

tough to say, but judging from other posters you both are below average for harvard applicants. esp azn's friend. even URMs need at least a 1300, and without EAs you thought were special, i dont think so.

btw iranians dont qualify for AA.
