Friend's Chances at NU?

I'm asking this for my friend (who can use some reassurance...and no, that "friend" isn't me). She's not really sure if she can get in to NU--she wants to go to Medill--and I think she can, especially if she applies ED. By the way, she's from Canada and doesn't need FA.

GPA: 91% UW.
Class Rank: 2/77 in competitive public.
SAT I: 1320 (720v, 600m).
SAT IIs: 730 Writing, 690 French, 670 Literature.

ECs: Literary journal editor, HS newspaper editor-in-chief, freelance journalism, semi-regular writing at local paper, perennial public speaking winner/finalist, curling team, quiz team. While it may not sound like much to Americans, it's pretty accomplished by Canadian standards--most people I know who got into top 25 schools didn't have crazy ECs.

Her essays would probably be alright (well-written, but maybe a little bland) and her recs would be stellar. Just for comparison's sake, I'm in her class, have a lower rank and GPA, and I got into UChicago. She's planning on retaking her SATs and SAT IIs.

dude, your admissions time wont be for another 9 months, so chill out.
from what i can tell, your "friend" seems to have better stats and ECs than I do, and i was accepted to medill this year, so she should have a very good chance.
Tell her to write about something she did journalism-related in her essays, that will help them not be bland.
